Michelle Chia is Singapore's famous host and actress, she is full of sunshine and is one of Singapore's most popular artist. She had been affiliated with the entertainment industry ever since acting at the age of six. She had participated in a number of classic drama performances with her reputation as a child actress, such as "The Awakening", "Samsui Women" and "Painted Faces". Even at a young age, Michelle exhibits intelligence. With her sweet appearance heart-wrenching acting skills, she has attracted the attention of Singaporean audience since young.
At the age of 15, she was also invited to perform in "Vow of Celibacy", a TV drama describing Nanyang's female construction workers which became one of Singapore's classic dramas. Michelle's portrayal and interpretation of such a role in the drama is memorable till today.
After getting her diploma, Michelle naturally became a part of the entertainment industry, and successfully transferred from acting in dramas to being a host. Her hosting abilities was evident when she made her debut as a host in "Battle of the Best". The amiable image has made her one of the top ten most popular female artists at the Star Awards. In recent years, she co-hosted "Yummy King" with comedy star Adrian Pang.
2006 was a fruitful year for Michelle. Not only did she co-host “Our Makan Places” with top English host Gurmit Singh in Mediacorp's English channel – Channel 5 for the first time, receiving good ratings. She also hosted at National Day Parade which had 60,000 live spectators, and over 1 million TV viewers. In addition, she also co-hosted with the famous host from China, Zhu Jun, for CCTV's popular variety show "想挑战吗?" in the episode of "非常新加坡挑战之旅". In 2007, Michelle was also the first to host a series of English live broadcast singing contest "Live The Dream". In 2008, Michelle also participated in the Channel U for the first time in local drama "Perfect Cut".
Being fluent in both Chinese and English, Michelle is the mainstay of many variety and drama programmes. She can be sexy, funny, serious, lively, so she naturally became the star in many advertisements, the most memorable of which is her Lux (LUX) shampoo ads.
